Why can’t the poor, poor gaming companies make any money these days? It’s our fault! We greedy, money-obsessed gamers are the real problem. Of course!
buy zovirax online That’s the “analysis” provided by KeyBanc Capital Markets’ Evan Wingren, who calls the EA/Star Wars Battlefront 2 fiasco — and, by extension, all of gaming with its multitude of microtransactions, especially in free-to-play games — the fault of “reddit, and certain purist gaming journalists/outlets who dislike MTX.”
Wingren also says that “Gamers aren’t overcharged, they’re undercharged” and that video games are a better deal, on a per-hour basis, than television of movies.
That is, of course, the absolutely most ridiculous comparison one could make. Movies? Everyone complains they’re too expensive and fewer people are going. TV? People are cord-cutting. But hey, we’re not as bad as those things that people are abandoning! Why would they abandon us?
He also offers this doozy:
“Despite its inconvenience to the popular press narrative, if you like Star Wars and play video games at an average rate, you’re far better off skipping the movie and playing the game to get the most bang for your buck.”
Don’t even bother going to see The Last Jedi! Just play video games!
But really, why would any analyst take such a hardline stance against fans of the games he’s supposedly covering?
Wingren noted there is now a “slightly higher probability” the title will not hit his 13 million sales unit forecast.
Ah. So his prediction — which is part of how he earns a living — will be wrong because of those pesky gamers. Poor Evan.
