The Black Desert Online world has just gotten bigger with the release of the first part of the much-awaited Kamasylvia Expansion which officially went live after the weekly maintenance period earlier today. The free expansion continues the game’s storyline and comes with new quests and missions tied to the elven Ranger and Dark Knight classes’ backstories. Here’s what you can expect on your journey.
“Black Desert Online’s new region, Kamasylvia, features elven woodlands that stretch out to the south of Hexe Sanctuary, from the Valtarra Mountains to the Shady Tree Forest. In terms of the landmass, the new region is about the size of Calpheon and houses an elven village known as the Old Wisdom Tree. There is no level requirement for Kamasylvia, but it is a dangerous place to go alone, so being at high level will be beneficial and group play is recommended.”
The new region also introduces a co-op instance called The Altar of Training where players must work together to defend sacred treasure from increasingly powerful waves of enemies, culminating with a showdown with a powerful final boss. Successfully completing The Altar of Training will reward players with valuable items and gear.
And, if winged horses are your thing, the expansion comes with a new tier-9 mount called Arduannat which, according to the devs is “the most graceful mount ever released in the Black Desert world.”
Kakao Games has yet to announce a release date for the second part of the expansion but the devs say that it might be “arriving sooner than many of you would expect.”
Check out Arduannat in all his winged glory after the break. We’ve also included a preview of the Kamasylvia zone just in case you missed it before.
