Tiger Knight: Empire War Not Closing After All, Will Have New Server Tomorrow

Three weeks ago, the makers of ancient battle simulator Tiger Knight: Empire War had some bad news for its players on Steam: The game would be shutting down today, January 10. As the dev team put it, “This is not a message we ever wanted to deliver.”

And now they don’t have to! Today a new message popped up on the Steam community page announcing that instead of going away entirely, the three different servers for the game — one each for NA, EU, and Australia, it seems — would merge into one. If you have characters on those servers, you’ll receive plenty of gifts, including 30 days of VIP time and various currencies. The servers will still go down today but will be back in action tomorrow, depending on your time zone.

The post also indicates that it will be “Netdragon taking control of the game fully”; the company is currently listed as the developer, with Oasis Games as the publisher, so that might be the reason for the shutdown-not-a-shutdown. In any case, this will lead to a new store page and community page on Steam and also require players to re-download and re-install the game. If that’s a little confusing, you can always keep track of the Tiger Knight’s progress on its official website.
