It would appear that people – lots of people – really like the recently released Warframe Plains of Eidolon update. An announcement from Digital Extremes proudly proclaims that the latest content to the action MMO has helped Warframe climb the Steam charts.
When the Plains of Eidolon opened to players, Warframe’s concurrent user number on Steam hit 121,377. That figure is nearly double the count from the Octavia’s Anthem release, making it the second most-played free title on Steam according to the announcement and the fourth most-played overall according to SteamCharts as of this writing.
Plains of Eidolon is currently only available to PC players, but the devs are promising the update will arrive to console players before the end of the year. If you’re not already familiar, you can head to this website to learn more about the update.
Considering the next highest game in the list is CS:GO, Warframe’s spot in the Steam charts is very impressive indeed. With this level of apparent success, things look good for perhaps more open world content coming to Warframe in the near future. Have you been among those enjoying the Plains of Eidolon?
